September 22, 2019
Naga City, Camarines Sur

It’s one of the most anticipated events in the Bicol Region: the annual Peñafrancia Festival, commemorated every third Sunday of September, with events lined up throughout the weeks leading up to the mass. The spotlight is on the Fluvial Procession, which happens on the Saturday before the big mass. Expect colorful barges and boats carrying an image of the Virgin, a copy of the Madonna in Peñafrancia, Spain, to make its trip from the Our Lady of Peñafrancia Shrine to the Naga Cathedral by way of the Naga River.
